Join The Team
2013 is the year that the Timbers finally fulfil their potential, and I want this site to match them.
It will be a busy year from me in that murky, disturbing place called “the real world”, so I’m looking for help in covering Cascadia’s finest. If you think you can do that, please get in touch.
Ideally, there would be a “brain trust” of intelligent Timbers fans ready to weigh in when the notion takes them – don’t be shy, even if you only want to contribute as a one-off – but I’m specifically looking for folks to join the staff. I can’t bear this burden on my own for another year!
Commitment: At least 1 article per week
Scope: There’s rarely a dull day as a Timbers fan, but there’s only so much I can cover on my own! I’d love to hear from anyone who feels they could commit to at least one 500-word article per week or so, be it on the Timbers, the reserves, the U-23′s or whatever flavour of Rose City goodness you fancy. Really, I would love to get someone on board who could give us regular updates of the progress of the non-main side and youth system. And I’d also love to get someone on board who could keep us up to date with what’s going on with the fans – never a dull moment, even in the offseason! – or who would like to bring some Timbers history to a wider audience.
Get in touch here!
I’d also be interested in hearing from people who have other skills they think they could bring to bear on the site, be it in podcasting, art and photography, music, or whatever.
We’re not closed to writing on wider football matters, but preferably these should carry at least some kind of Portland Timbers or MLS angle.
Thanks again to everyone who has, and continues to visit the site. It’s great to get your feedback, and the site has grown way beyond my expectations for it. Not too shabby for a daft wee blog. There’s a great bunch of folk who visit and comment, and I hope to bring your expertise and opinion to the site “proper” as it would improve the site exponentially.
I hope to hear from you soon,
Kevin.
